Aquamarine has a rich color and has long been a symbol of youth, health and hope. Its mesmerizing color ranges from pale to deep blue and is reminiscent of the sea.
Aquamarine creates a beautiful accent to spring and summer wardrobes.
Aquamarine is the official state gemstone of Colorado, and the most noted hunting grounds for finding the gem since the late 1800s is the Mt. Antero/Mt. White area in Chaffee County.
At over 14,000 feet in elevation, the aquamarine hunting season is limited to about three months of summer. Wind, lightning storms, and frequent afternoon rains can be life-threatening at low temperatures and high altitudes.
Local artists and avid rockhounds, Laurel Swab and her husband Austin, formed Faceted Industries to showcase their finds from their claim on Mt. White and other sources. We have a lovely selection of new work from Austin & Laurel in store, just in time for March Birthdays!!
